Sam Goulden Background Info
|
Over the past six years, I have devoted my career to
learning and teaching the game of golf. In doing so,
I have been lucky enough to learn from some of the
games top teachers. Past "PGA Teacher(s) of the Year"
Hank Haney
and Michael Hebron
have been instrumental in the development of my teaching style and
understanding of swing fundamentals.
In travelling with students to
Hank Haney´s Golf Ranch in Texas on two occasions, I was able to watch
one of the best teachers in the world up close. That
experience has proved invaluable to my abilities as a
leader, mentor and teacher.
Speaking with Michael Hebron
and learning the
principles which he employs in helping his students
learn has impacted me greatly in my approach to how
the game is learned. One on one time with Mike showed
me what it takes to really help someone learn as
opposed to telling them how to swing.
I do not subscribe to any one "method" of teaching but use my
understanding of many styles to help students get better. My study of
the golf swing will never cease as I am continually learning with every
lesson I give. Over the past year,I have been learning the concepts of
the "stack and tilt" and "one plane swing" from
Jim Hardy (2008 PGA Teacher of the Year) and others.
Learning these popular methods has helped me become a well rounded teacher.
As my students´ knowledge of the game and expertise in playing has grown, I too
have become enriched as a player and teacher. I look forward to another great
year and hope to have the opportunity to help you with your game.
